For years, Jenelle Evans locked horns with her mother Barbara Evans in scenes that were alternately hilarious and horrifying.
We probably don't need to tell you that Jenelle is awful, but there were times when Babs was almost as bad.
Okay, that's an exaggeration, but Babara's not exactly winning any mother of the year awards either, ya know?
Anyway, something interesting has taken place on the most recent episodes of Teen Mom 2.
Against all odds -- and despite the fact that Babara still has custody of Jenelle's eldest son -- the Evanses have managed to repair their relationship.
As far as we can tell, there were two motivating factors behind this development:
1. Jenelle's husband, David Eason, got fired from Teen Mom 2, and producers decided Jenelle should probably share her screentime with someone other than a bunch of toddlers -- hence, more mother-daughter bonding time for Babs and Nelles.
2. Jenelle clashed with Kailyn Lowry again.
What could that longstanding feud possibly have to do with Jenelle's relationship with her mother?
Well, Jenelle was extremely pissed off by a scene from the latest episode of TM2 in which Kail rightly pointed out that she had performed some significant favors for Jenelle in the past -- including bailing her out of jail.
Jenelle took to Twitter to argue that Lowry had never done anything for her, and the only person she owes a debt of gratitude to is Babs.
“If anything the ONLY woman that helped me through my deepest darkest time was my MOTHER,” Kail tweeted.
“Thanks to her I was able to get through it all and overcome everything."
Jenelle later tweeted to Babs directly, writing:
“Super glad we have reconnected and let’s keep it that way. The kids love you around."
No one expected Jenelle and Babs to reconcile like this, especially since with that ugly custody issue yet to be resolved.
But Jenelle is basically maneuvering like a Game of Thrones character these days, so in retrospect, her latest move is no surprise.
Yet again, Jenelle and David seem to be on the verge of divorce, and she's severed ties with most of her friends and all of her castmates except for Briana DeJesus.
Her inner circle is shrinking rapidly, and she's on the verge of heading to the next reunion with no one in her corner.
Plus, scenes with Jenelle sitting alone in her she-shed just wouldn't make for very good television.
