It's been quite a week for Jenelle Evans.
After speculation that she would skip the festivities altogether, Jenelle attended the Teen Mom 2 reunion show taping in New York -- only to storm off stage after being confronted about some of the racially insensitive content she's posted on social media.
But even before her now-infamous showdown with host Nessa, Jenelle was having a tough few days on social media.
Of course, as is almost always the case with Jenelle, she really has no one to blame for this mess but herself.
It all started with one of Ms. Evans' sponsored content posts touting the alleged benefits of some appetite-suppressing, metabolism-boosting beverage called BoomBod.
Usually, these are Jenelle's least controversial posts, but this time, fans were quick to seize on two very strange aspects of her latest cash grab.
For one, Jenelle strangely went out of her way to call out The Good Place actress Jameela Jamil.
"So look at this! [BoomBod]’s weight loss program works crazy good, I’m seeing a big difference already," Jenelle captioned the pic above.
"It’s got ingredients that are clinically proven for weight loss [Jameela Jamil] what do you think about that?"
Jamil has been critical of stars who shill weight loss teas and other products that seem designed to bilk desperate fans out of their money.
Jenelle apparently feels that's unfair, and as evidence of BoomBod's efficacy, she posted photographic evidence of her results.
And that brings us to the second issue regarding Jenelle's latest sponsored post -- her "before" and "after" photos were very clearly taken just minutes apart.
Not only that, it doesn't look as though Jenelle put much effort into creating the illusion that a greater duration of time had elapsed.
Just look at the drawstrings on her pants or the items on the shelf behind her.
As far as we can tell, Jenelle merely doffed her shirt and hiked up her pants a bit for the after photo.
You almost have to admire the shamelessness of it all.
Of course, the fans who commented on the pic weren't in the mood to give Jenelle props for the depths she's willing to sink to in order to con them out of their money.
"Haha your a FRAUD...same pants and the strings are in the exact same position like ya never took em off or washed them! This is why we don’t believe anything that comes out of your mouth cause your a FRAUD," one follower wrote.
"Its the same tummy she just pull the pants up," another remarked.
"I love that taking off your shirt, pulling up your pants and using the hair tie you already have on your wrist to put up your hair is all you have to do to lose weight that day," a third commented, adding:
"Why aren't we all doing this simple weight loss program???"
Not surprisingly, Jenelle has yet to respond to the many fraud allegations against her.
In all likelihood, she'll be dropped as a sponsor after this mess, but she'll have already received a nice payday from BoomBod.
It's really a no-lose scenario for the Carolina Hurricane.
