By now, you've probably heard about what might be the most shocking Teen Mom 2 scandal of all time.
(Which is really saying something, considering this is the show that gave us Jenelle Evans.)
We learned yesterday that Jenelle's husband, David Eason, shot and killed her pet dog, a small French bulldog named Nugget.
Eason claimed he did so in response to the dog biting his 2-year-old daughter Ensley -- but the "evidence" he provided only served to prove that no such incident ever occurred.
David posted a video that he claimed was proof of the dog's aggression.
All that it showed, however, was him encouraging Ensley to invade Nugget's space and the dog barking in response.
Photos from the incident showed no bite marks and instead revealed a possible scratch that did not puncture the skin.
Astonishingly, it seems David will get off the hook for this shocking case of animal cruelty, as the only one who can press charges against him is Jenelle, and it seems she has no intention of doing so.
On Wednesday, Jenelle confirmed that she and David are separated, but she offered no information about their future as a couple or her unwillingness to press charges.
"David and I are not on talking terms,” she told Us Weekly.
“I’m too hurt and upset at the fact he did that. It’s taking time to get over this whole situation, and it’s making me feel he’s very cruel and doesn’t have a heart on many ends.”
An MTV source informed TMZ that the incident has "cemented" the network's decision to never work with David again -- but for many fans, that's not good enough.
David was already fired from the show, and many believe this incident should lead Teen Mom 2 to completely sever ties with Jenelle and her family.
Groups like PETA have already begun circulating petitions, and the message is loud and clear -- if Jenelle doesn't leave David for good, she must be fired from Teen Mom 2.
"David Eason has a long history of violent behavior, and was caught on camera dragging a pig by their legs," PETA tweeted on Wednesday.
"Domestic abusers commonly begin by harming animals. If he really did shoot Nugget, it's time to worry about the safety of the humans and remaining animals at the house."
But it looks as though PETA and millions of animal lovers are likely to be frustrated by the non-response from MTV.
TMZ reports that there are "currently no plans to 86 Jenelle" if and when the show is picked up for a 10th season.
Season 9B of Teen Mom 2 is currently filming, but interestingly, producers have yet to shoot any scenes involving Jenelle.
Perhaps they're finally planning to give the people what they want.
