On the first Teen Mom episode of 2013, Jenelle Evans realizes she may have moved in a little too quickly with boyfriend du jour Josh ... ya think, Jenelle?
Meanwhile, Kailyn Lowry reconnects with her half sister, Chelsea Houska tries to potty train Aubree, and Corey Simms regrets divorcing Leah Messer.
How did all that play out? Find out in THG's +/- recap!
Jenelle Evans, the Carolina hurricane, moves in with her new boyfriend Josh after a big fight with mom Bahbrah. We give this a couple of days.
Lo and behold, after just a few days, she realizes their relationship might not work out. She finds Josh annoying and immature. Oh, J. Minus 20.
Then Jenelle and Jace actually hang out! WTH! Plus 50.
At the pumpkin patch, Jenelle tells Barbara she is ready to have more alone time with Jace, meaning he should stay over at her house. With Josh.
Yelling ensues. Jenelle storms off, as always. Minus 30.
Our girl claims she's unstable due to her medicine. Isn't it supposed to do the opposite? In any case, Barbara and Jace come over to pick her up.
Jenelle bails again. More yelling ensues. Minus 30.
“I’m so sick of going back and forth,” she revealed, acknowledging in a rare moment of clarity that her troubled past is starting to impact her future. Plus 10.
She cries into Josh's arms for what has to be the last time. It's not working out. Bring on Kieffer Delp (again), Gary Head and Courtland Rogers. Plus 10.
Chelsea Houska is like sooooooo close to getting her GED. She's focused on school and Aubree and not on Adam Lind ... for the next 20 minutes anyway.
She decides to work on potty training her daughter, starting with a chart of achievements situated proudly on the fridge next to Chelsea’s GED scores.
Plus 20 for the thought, but Aubree hates it, whines, throws the little girl potty across the floor and clearly has no interest in the exercise. Best laid plans.
Chelsea gets her GED results for the social studies and reading tests. She passed! Two more tests and her beauty school dreams may be realized. Plus 30.
Leah Messer gets an unusual text from ex-husband Corey Simms.
Plus 20 because with texting, you don't have to subtitle Corey!
He tells her their divorce was a mistake and that he misses her, a revelation Leah shares with BF Jeremy Calvert, who insists that Corey cut the family loose.
He's right, but she's still taken aback.
”When your ex-wife gives you butterflies, you might be in love once and for all,” Corey says. Minus only 10, because it took a lot of guts to say that.
Still, too little too late, we're afraid, and he has only himself to blame. Even as Leah confides to BFF Kayla that she'll always love him, you know it's over.
When the exes meet up to exchange the girls, it seems they both know rekindling their relationship would just be too hard. Feelings or not. Minus 20.
“I wish divorce wasn’t ever freaking invented,” Corey says. Dude, you filed. Minus 20.
In the meantime Leah Messer is going to keep seeing Jeremy Calvert and work on being the best mom. Her parents agree it's the best move. Plus 20.
Kailyn Lowry flew to Austin to spend time with her cousin and family, including half-sister Mikayla. They look and sound quite a lot alike, don't they?
Mikayla also doesn’t have anything to do with their dad. We sense a theme.
After bonding with her sister and her cousin, Kailyn starts to reflect on life in Pennsylvania and how she doesn’t have any other family there.
Just Jo Rivera, and that's hit or miss on its best day. Minus 10.
She contemplates moving down to Texas for a bit, as she thinks she and Isaac could have a good life, but she doesn't want to take him from his dad.
Tough call there, Kails. Very tough call indeed. But Plus 10 for even thinking it through and weighing all the options in a somewhat mature manner.
