The ongoing feud between Kailyn Lowry and Jenelle Evans just took a seriously dark turn.
As you've probably heard, Kailyn is currently pregnant with her third child.
She's been uncharacteristically secretive about the pregnancy, at first flat-out denying rumors that she was knocked up.
Jenelle, however, has not been particularly respectful of Kailyn's wish for privacy.
Early on, when Kailyn had yet to confirm anything publicly, Jenelle spread the rumor that Kailyn was pregnant, and now she may be using her social media presence to help spread less factual information.
Evans' verified Facebook page posted a piece of seriously fake news over the weekend courtesy of a gossip site article that takes a quote from Kailyn way out of context.
Fans of Jenelle's were shocked to see the Carolina Hurricane post the following:
Those who actually read the article realized quickly that "baby" here refers to Kailyn's BMW, which she says she's getting rid of due to lack of space for car seats.
But this is 2017, a time in which people frequently share and comment on articles that they haven't read, and Jenelle (or whoever runs Jenelle's Facebook page) likely knew what she was doing when she posted such a misleading headline.
Within minutes, the article had been shared numerous times, and the comments section exploded with confusion and speculation.
“Jenelle [is] always posting fake articles,” wrote one fan, seemingly summing up the consensus.
The post was later deleted, but the damage had already been done.
Eventually the situation prompted a response from Kailyn on social media.
"Whoever decided to twist my words and say I'm not keeping my baby is a f-cked up individual," Kailyn tweeted.
“I'd really love if things I'm quoted saying in interviews aren't copied and pasted into click-[bait] articles for bullsh-- publications. But then again, it's on the internet it MUST be true.”
Of course, Kailyn is railing against the same culture of celebrity (and pseudo-celebrity) obsession that made her a wealthy women while she was still in her teens, but she has a right to defend herself against phony click-bait nonsense.
Jenelle has yet to respond to the situation, but we're guessing it didn't do much for her already-damaged relationship with Kailyn.
